Submission Guidelines for Skenè. Texts and Studies

The Skenè. Texts & Studies series includes three sections:

STUDIES 1: Studies, and edited collections of essays on the theory, practice, and history of theatre and drama, from any of the perspectives described here.

STUDIES 2: Shorter studies on theory, practice, and history of theatre and drama, from any of the perspectives described here.

TEXTS: Annotated editions (including parallel text editions) of drama texts and primary sources on the theory, practice, and history of theatre and drama.

Authors wishing to submit a manuscript to be considered for publication in any of these three sections should first send us a proposal which should include:

-  A 2000-word description of the proposed book’s content and scope, as well as of its relevance and originality.
-  A table of contents or chapter outline, which should include an estimated length for each chapter. If the book includes significant front or back matter such as appendices or a glossary, please include a description of those as well.
-  If you plan to include illustrations please provide an estimate of their number and type (i.e. black-and-white images, line drawings, colour images, maps, diagrams, etc.).
-  An estimated schedule for completion.
-  An updated author(s)’/editor(s)’ bio-biblio and list of publications. In case of edited collections, please add a list of the authors of the contributions, all with affiliations, and a 300-word abstract for each of the essays.

You may also wish to add a sample chapter.

If interested in evaluating the work, we will encourage you to send us an electronic copy of your completed manuscript. Upon receipt, we will send your work for peer review. Once we have received their reports, the Skenè Editorial Board will evaluate whether to pursue publication and the Managing Editor will inform you of the board’s final decision.

Skenè. T&S does not evaluate manuscripts under consideration elsewhere.

Manuscripts should be prepared following the Guidelines for Authors
